“We have been friends for a long time now, going on 11 or 12 years,” Kendall said, reflecting on how the 34-year-old British model took her under her wing when she was just finding her footing in the fashion world. “She brought me under her wing, in a way, and made me feel really safe and welcome in the modeling world.”

“We should address this. It’s because of our love for each other. People think I’m a lesbian to this day,” Kendall said with a laugh. “I’m not.”
She went further, tackling the specific dating rumors. “There’s definitely a rumor that her and I dated or something in the past, which is not true,” she said. “Not that I would have anything wrong with dating Cara, but we’ve just always been best buds.”
Cara, sitting right there, backed her up completely. “I can attest to the fact that you’re not,” the model said.

At one point Kendall joked that the wine was doing the talking. “I’ve been served too much wine. I have to chill,” she admitted, while Cara was clearly delighted, calling the whole exchange “truth serum.”
Cara even turned the tables and asked Kendall a hypothetical: if she had to be with a woman, who would it be? Kendall did not hesitate. “You! Obviously,” she told Cara. “You’re the only woman that I know would be nice to me.”
What Cara Has Said About Her Own Identity
Part of what made the conversation so easygoing is that Cara has been open about her own identity for years. The British model and actress previously described herself as pansexual, and earlier this year she told the Louis Theroux Podcast that she has come to understand herself as a lesbian.
That comfort with the topic is part of why the two have never felt the need to push back harder on the rumors until now. As Kendall put it, there is nothing wrong with it either way. The friendship is simply a friendship.
