Selena Gomez is about to host the biggest night of her year, and this one has nothing to do with music charts or movie premieres. The singer and Rare Beauty founder is bringing her Rare Impact Fund Benefit back to Los Angeles for its fourth year, with a star-packed lineup that reads like a love letter to anyone who has ever struggled in silence.

The announcement landed on October 8, and the details are impressive: the benefit, officially titled “A Night of Radiance and Reflection,” takes place on October 14 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Gomez herself will host the evening, with Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor and comedian Sean Hayes handling emcee duties. Grammy-winning soul singer Leon Bridges and rising artist and songwriter Bella Kay will perform live on stage.

But the guest list is not the real story here. The real story is the number attached to this night: 100 million dollars. That is the amount the Rare Impact Fund wants to mobilize for organizations that expand access to youth mental health services and education around the world.

A Night Built for a Bigger Purpose

This year’s benefit is the fourth edition of an event that has quietly grown into one of Hollywood’s most meaningful philanthropy nights. Along with the entertainment lineup, the fund also announced its inaugural host committee and its Rare level sponsors, a group of leaders, advocates and friends of the fund who are backing its mission.

Since launching in 2020, the Rare Impact Fund has raised more than 30 million dollars. It currently supports 30 nonprofit partners across five continents, reaching an estimated 3.5 million young people every year. One percent of every dollar from Rare Beauty cosmetics sales goes directly to the fund, a built-in funding engine that has kept the mission growing even as Gomez’s beauty brand has expanded into one of the most valuable celebrity beauty lines in the world.

Last year’s benefit set the bar high. It raised more than 2 million dollars from over 20 sponsors and guests, was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, and featured performances from alternative pop band The Marias and Grammy-winning singer Laufey. This year’s edition looks ready to top it.

Why This Cause Is Personal for Selena

For Gomez, youth mental health is not a talking point. It is her life story. She revealed in 2020 that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, a disclosure she said came after years of struggling with her mental health in the glare of the spotlight. Before that, she had already spoken publicly about her lupus diagnosis and her 2017 kidney transplant, donated by her friend Francia Raisa.

She built Rare Beauty around the idea of breaking down unrealistic standards of perfection, and the Rare Impact Fund became the charitable arm of that philosophy. Gomez has repeatedly said that shining a light on youth mental health is something no one can do alone, and this benefit is her way of pulling Hollywood’s brightest names into that fight alongside her.

Bridges, whose soulful catalog runs from “Coming Home” to “Gold-Diggers Sound,” brings exactly the kind of emotional honesty the evening calls for. In his own statement, he called it an absolute privilege to take part in an event that creates real, tangible access to help for young people, adding that Gomez is setting a standard for how artists can use their platforms to drive real change.

The $100 Million Goal, in Context

The fund’s target is ambitious, but the need behind it is bigger. Mental health access for young people remains deeply unequal, with cost, stigma and provider shortages creating some of the steepest barriers in underserved communities. By channeling star power, corporate sponsorships and a beauty empire’s built-in giving into the same room on October 14, Gomez is betting that celebrity philanthropy can do more than raise checks. It can raise standards.

Last year’s 2 million dollars showed the model works. With a bigger venue, a heavier-hitting lineup and the fund’s visibility growing every year, this year’s “Night of Radiance and Reflection” could become the single biggest fundraising night in the fund’s history.

What to Watch For on October 14

Beyond the performances and the speeches, keep an eye on who shows up. Past editions have drawn a who’s who of Hollywood supporters, and with Gomez personally hosting this time, the Palladium guest list is expected to be stacked. The benefit is closed to the public, but Gomez has used past events to share moments and milestones with fans online, so expect the highlights to surface on social media the morning after.

For now, the message from the announcement is clear: youth mental health deserves a stage this big, and Selena Gomez intends to keep giving it one until the 100 million dollar goal is more than a mission statement. It is a target, and this October 14, she is bringing an entire city of supporters with her to chase it.
